ATA Seeks Nominations for Good Stuff Image Award

ARLINGTON, Va.— The American Trucking Associations today announced that it is seeking nominations for the inaugural Mike Russell “Good stuff” Trucking Image Award. The award celebrates companies, organizations and the individuals that creatively implement the “Good stuff. Trucks Bring It.” campaign in order to generate positive awareness of the trucking industry.

ATA President and CEO Bill Graves said, “The expression ‘Good stuff. Trucks Bring It.’ relates how important the trucking industry is for America. The men and women who work in this industry are proud of their role in keeping the country moving. This award honors those who have gone above and beyond, making ‘Good stuff’ more than just a slogan.”

Submissions will be evaluated by an impartial panel of judges based on creativity, execution and reach/impact. All submissions must be submitted to the “Good stuff” campaign by Oct. 1, 2007. Winners will be announced during ATA’s annual Management Conference & Exhibition Oct. 20-23 in Orlando, Fla.

“The Mike Russell ‘Good stuff’ Trucking Image Award is a chance for the industry to recognize those who are actively making a difference for trucking,” said ATA’s Communication and Image Policy Committee Chair Virginia Parker. “From CEOs and drivers to customers, state trucking associations and suppliers, we want to recognize anyone who is creatively promoting and improving the image of the trucking industry.”

The award is named in honor of the late Mike Russell, a trucking industry supporter and media official who helped develop the “Good stuff. Trucks Bring It.” campaign as vice president of Public Affairs for the American Trucking Associations. Russell’s efforts to improve the image of the trucking industry through the “Good stuff” campaign were the inspiration for this award.

“Good stuff. Trucks Bring It.” is an industry-wide campaign aimed at improving the image of trucking. By emphasizing the relevance of trucking to all aspects of American society, “Good stuff” presents the public with a positive, modern image of the professional driver and industry. Everything we use comes by truck. “Good stuff” is how the industry informs the public of its importance.
